Middle school football, volleyball, JV football, varsity flag football and varsity football will all be in action, giving Bulldog fans plenty of opportunities to support Holtville student-athletes throughout the week. Holtville volleyball programs are showing signs of continued growth under second-year head coach Holley, with an emphasis on teamwork, culture and turning individual talent into a stronger overall program. The Holtville High School Softball Team is bringing back a community favorite for another season — Chick-fil-A Friday. The fundraiser was launched last softball season as a way to raise money for the HHS Softball Program. Knowing Chick-fil-A is a favorite among all ages, the HHS Softball Booster Club came up with a simple idea: why not bring a little Chick-fil-A to Slapout on the first Friday of each month? The Holtville High School Quarterback Club is inviting the community to an evening of food, fellowship, and excitement during its annual $10,000 Drawdown Fundraiser, set for Saturday, July 18, at 6:30 p.m. at 17 Springs. The event serves as one of the Quarterback Club’s largest fundraisers of the year, with proceeds directly benefiting the Holtville High School football program. Funds raised help support equipment, training, travel expenses, and other needs throughout the season. Tickets are $100 each and include one meal. About a year ago, I created a Facebook page called Holtville Post. At the time, I honestly wasn’t sure what I wanted it to become. I just knew there was something missing. Like many people in our community, I would often hear about an event after it had already happened.
