Holtville Elementary PTO fundraiser raises more than $46,000

The Holtville Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization raised more than $46,000 through its Harvest Festival King and Queen fundraiser, bringing students, families and community members together to support the school.

Mathes Strength and Belle Weimorts were named this year’s top schoolwide winners, earning the titles of Mr. HES and Miss HES.

The fundraiser invited students to seek family and friend donations and business sponsorships, and to organize activities such as bake sales, yard sales, lemonade stands, car washes and community events. Participation was free, and families were encouraged to make a good-faith effort to raise at least $100, a fundraising goal, not a required payment.

One boy and one girl were randomly selected from each classroom to serve as class representatives. In kindergarten through fourth grade, the top fundraising boy and girl in each grade were crowned Harvest Festival King and Queen. The top-raising boy and girl across the entire school earned the Mr. HES and Miss HES titles.

“We are incredibly grateful to our students, families, teachers, staff, volunteers, local businesses, and the entire Holtville community for making this year’s Harvest Festival fundraiser a record-breaking success. Every donation, every hour volunteered, and every effort to spread the word helped make a difference. This record-breaking year reflects our community’s generosity and commitment to our children and our school. On behalf of the PTO, thank you for showing up, giving so generously, and helping us make great things happen for our students, teachers, and school,” said Trish Battles, vice president of the Holtville Elementary PTO.

The PTO thanked everyone who supported the fundraiser and helped make it a success. Proceeds will support Holtville Elementary and its students.
